William Kanengiser Concert Information On Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 8:00 PM one of America's finest guitarists will play a concert on the Classical Guitar in the beautiful Dumke Hall, University of Utah Music Building. This concert is part of the 2000-2001 Guitar Master Series, and is jointly supported by a grant from the Utah Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, D.C. Tickets are available online, from local UCGS ticket outlets, and at the door. William Kanengiser Bio William Kanengiser is recognized as one of AmericaÕs most brilliant guitarists. He won First Prize in the Concert Artist Guild International Competition, as well as major international guitar competitions in Toronto and Paris. He has developed a unique repertoire for his instrument, ranging from dazzling arrangements of Mozart, Handel and Bartok, to his innovative excursions into the music of Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. His debut recording for the GSP label won an ÒINDIEÓ award for Best Classical Recording, and records for Sony Classical as a member of the world-famous Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Acclaimed soloist, recording artist and faculty member at the University of Southern California, William KanengiserÕs unique approach to programming is displayed in solo recordings exploring the music of the Old World and the Caribbean, and he has earned critical acclaim for his imaginative arrangements for solo guitar and guitar quartet. Best known as the classical guitarist in the film "Crossroads", he has also produced two instructional videos for Hot Licks.
