Amadeus Duo Bio

Dale Kavanagh (Canada) and Thomas Kirchhoff (Germany) have been playing together since 1991 and have given more than 550 concerts in more than 40 European countries and North- and South America and Asia. Critics and audiences acknowledge the young musicians bubbling temperament in virtuoso recital, their
highly sensitive creative ability in musical phrasing and articulation, and their great guitar-tone, which fills large auditoriums with a warm, rich sound. Besides their work on chamber music programmes they often play in concerts with large orchestras and perform compositions for two guitars and orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo - Sérgio Assad - Harald Genzmer - Carlo Domeniconi - Jaime M. Zenamon - Roland Dyens, and Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn.

The Amadeus Guitar Duo performs regularly with The Prague- Munich and Mannheimer Chamber Orchestra, The Philharmonia Hungarica, The President Orchestra Ankara,The Philharmonic State Orchestra Halle, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, The International Philharmony, Hannover and The Kurpfälzische Kammerorchester Mannheim, The Mainzer Chamber Orchestera and the Thuringen Philharmony. Twelve records (Haenssler-Classic, FONO) and regular radio- and television broadcasts (BBC, CBC, ZDF, WDR, TRT, RTL a.o.) in many countries certify the high quality of the Amadeus Guitar Duo.

Prominent Composers have dedicated Dale Kavanagh and Thomas Kirchhoff their works. Among them are concertos for two guitars and orchestra by Roland Dyens, Carlo Domeniconi, Jaime Zenamon, the Cologne composer Christian Jost and Gerald Garcia of Oxford and many compositions for guitar-duo by Stephen Dodgson, Harald Genzmer, Jaime M. Zenamon and Christian Jost. All works are published at Schott's, Mainz - Edition Margaux, Berlin - Verlag Hubertus Nogatz, Essen and Edition Peters, Frankfurt. They are invited to play in China, USA, Canada, Brazil, Thailand, England, Austria, Turkey, Poland and Rumania in the season 2002-2003.
